When I login to my wp admin for my index page here, I note the Yoast plugin tells me the following that I need to do:
#1. In “Focus Keyword”, I have “cartoons” chosen. But it indicates “Article Heading: NO” (all the rest are green)
Question: how to fix article heading? I do have focus keyword in the actual page.
#2. In “SEO Title”, I have WARNING Title display in Google is limited to a fixed width, yours is too long.
Also, at very top in that box for the page title, I have “Welcome” (above permalink info)…should I actually change that text in there?

This means that your keyword is not in the title field for your page. Sometimes that doesn’t really matter if your page template doesn’t use the WordPress title.

From Moz: “Optimal Length for Search Engines. Google typically displays the first 50-60 characters of a title tag, or as many characters as will fit into a 512-pixel display. If you keep your titles under 55 characters, you can expect at least 95% of your titles to display properly.”
Thank you for this input. So regarding my “Focus Keyword”, if I have a custom template I should not be concerned, correct? I.e., as it’s customized I am assuming the Wordpress title isn’t being applied? See my page by clicking my signature
